These drawings are literally fantastic! This art style would suit an abstract visual novel, or an internet video made to resemble a visual novel, like if the “ENA” series were made in grayscale.

That’s inspirational! I would have no idea how to create that grainy, textural effect in Krita - how did you create that effect, is it via brushes or something different?

That is a good question, I am also looking forward to the answer.
But my impression is that some effects here were created with brushes and other effects may have been based on self-added textures, in addition, a basic texture may have been used for the structure via templates or self-created textured canvases (as a basis). Since most of the pictures are equipped with different structures, it will be a mixture.
Let’s see how good my guess is.

Hello, thanks for the appreciation. For my drawings, I only use pixel spray (inspired by MsPaint) alternating layers of black and white. The textures result from the accumulation of these layers, each element slowly disappearing into the black.

WOW, just pixel spray? that is so impressive! I’ve never given noise, pixelation, graininess etc much thought till now, but you’ve opened my eyes to it’s potential. Thank you for sharing (´。• ᵕ •。`)
That’s the beauty of art, you always discover interesting new things, whether it’s the techniques used or the art itself, but it rarely gets boring.

I started with MsPaint 2 years ago I think, It’s my favorite tool by far, I moved to Krita mostly to gain in efficiency but I generally keep the same minimalist approach. It’s only recently that I’ve been trying new tools, like layers…; a small revolution for me

And yes, I think you can try to focus on a single tool and push it as far as possible, it opens doors of imagination in my opinion
