I now have Linux Mint on the hard drive. When I wanted to set the German language, I saw that there were no language settings. How can I set German?

For Linux Mint, that should have been asked during installation.
Which Desktop Manager/Environment are you using?

I’m using MATE and it’s all in the System Preferences:

Thank you for the answers. But in Krita there are no languages to choose from. The field is empty, only English is displayed,

Are you using the krita 5.1.5 appimage? If not, it would be a good idea to do that.

Have you set the Linux Mint system language to German?

Hast du Krita über die Repositories installiert? Dann wurde vermutlich das deutsche Sprachpacket nicht mitinstalliert.
