Sketching T. S. Eliot

Sketching T. S. Eliot and testing out some different brushes, techniques, etc.

He was by no means a handsome man, but certainly makes for an interesting face to draw!

Still looking for a good middle-ground between the more digital feeling brushes and the full-on “tradigital” look of the impasto brushes and so on. Not sure I found it exactly, but these sketches were fun to do regardless, so I’d call that a win!

great work!

I definitely feel that; something I am trying to work out in my own stuff.

Also, I love the term “tradigital”—definitely gonna use it myself haha

Thank you!

By the way, I recently came across these brushes, the Clooms “Dry and Dirty bundle” which have been really fun to play with, more traditional-leaning without leaning too far, if you know what I mean. (To be clear, I didn’t paint these sketches with those brushes – just found them a few days ago.) Anyway, check ‘em out! You might like them too.

I wish I could say I coined it! I think I heard it on some YouTube review of the Memileo brushes
