So my splash image for Krita 4.4.8 changed?

to a Christmas/holiday image…how does that happen without me updating the software?

Customizable Splash Screen Idea

About splashes… We’re baking in the splash when building Krita instead of having it an external file because, in the past, Linux distributions would change the splash screen for one with their own branding to “promote consistency”. OpenSUSE (capitalization random) was a good example of that. For the people who absolutely can’t stand Kiki, we have the --no-splash commandline option – but I don’t think I’d accept a patch that would make the splash configurable or an external file. Krita's Splash screen artwork has changed.

I opened Krita today and found that the loading page, or splash screen artwork has changed back to the David Revoy witch girl image. I’d prefer the other anime bunny thing, actually I’d prefer not to have any of these cutsie anime girly images but if I have to have one I’d like the bunny thing, at least it’s holding a drawing tablet. Is it something we can change or is it just a thing Krita does. Can these images actually be blocked out on loading? I’m aware this is not a pressing issue.

Thanks! I Assumed it was build in, but it surprised me a few days ago.

After the first time I saw that happen, I spent a few months waiting to see the Easter bunny. I was disappointed.

Don’t know why, but it seems Christmas splashscreen has been removed from Krita 5
(or maybe just removed as it’s still beta version? )

For Krita 5 it’s disabled. I would like more seasonal splashes – I remember we had a Pepper on a tropical island splash once – but then I started thinking, oh, we’d need to use geolocation to determine when it’s summer for the user…

(The reason we disabled it is because of the new format for the splash screen)
