[solved] Alt does not substract in Contiguous selection tool

Hello, I noticed that Alt+Contiguous Selection Tool does not activate substract in Krita 5.1.1 - I’m sure it worked in previous version. Do you have the problem or is it only me ?

Krita 5.1.1 - Win 10 64 bits

I’ve just tried that with the 5.1.1 appimage and Alt does toggle into and out of Subtract with the Contiguous Selection tool, if the Action is set to Replace.
Did you have Action set to Replace at the time?
(Shift forces Addition from Replace but does not have a toggle effect and I’ve no idea why there is that difference between them.)

Thanks for your answer. I tried with Replace Action and it works as intended. I switched back to Add Action - I forgot to say I always work in Add Action - and…it seems to work now ??? Very strange.

I was wrong. Switching to another Action makes it work… one time. After that, the problem shows again. Nobody has this problem ?

Just as a test, see if the menu bar is activated somehow when pressing alt.

You can also check whether you have a canvas input setting mapped to Alt, because for me that disables toggling the selection modes.

I looked everywhere and nothing seems activated when pressing Alt. Thanks for your suggestion. Solution was given by @Hologram .

Thanks for your suggestion. I reverted in Canvas Input setting to “restore default” (I don’t remember having changed anything here) and it seems to have solved the problem.

@AhabGreybeard it seems there is a bug with alt and that toggle behavior. Alt is normally used to activate the menu bar so you can use the accelerator keys so maybe there is some issue there. It happens both on windows and linux, although in linux I have a global menu on kde and the issue does not happen. It only happens if the menu is in the window.

@lian00 good to hear this solved your issue.

@Deif_Lou Indeed the alt jump to top toolbar thingy. Can that be disabled?

It solved this problem but seems to give more importance to another problem talked here. So frustrating.
