Some 88x31 buttons!

We made some 88x31 buttons for ourselves!

[Frost] I drew these ones, for me, Ylfingr and Topaz respectively.

[Ylfingr] And I drew these, for myself and Fenris!

“A wolf shall devour the sun, and this will be counted a great misfortune. A second wolf shall devour the moon, and this, too, shall cause great mischief.”

All of these are scaled up 2x to be more visible. If they’re blurry, shame on the website and/or your browser! It would be nice if we could set image-rendering: pixelated; on them.

Did you know that scaling up causes blurriness? If you want to show your work with the best clarity possible, upload the actual images instead of pasting screenshots. That gives the view the choice of clicking on them to enlarge them.

[Ylfingr] These aren’t screenshots! They’re scaled up with nearest neighbor, specifically to not be blurry.

Scaling up will always add some blurriness.

But that’s interesting that these are not screenshots. They don’t appear to be uploaded images as there is no way to enlarge them and there are no file names. What method did you use to put them in your post?

We drag-and-dropped them into the textbox and they landed as ![filename](upload:// link) in the markdown.

It’s weird that there are no filenames, yeah. Maybe they only display for larger-size images or something.

(And *headtilt* how would a perfect integer scale add blurriness? One pixel ⇒ 2x2 pixels of the same color, no interpolation blurring. Now it’s possible for it to be blurred if you’re on a high DPI display and your browser scales it MORE using bilinear or whatever, but that’s the browser’s fault.)

For comparison, here’s one scaled up 16x. I bet it’ll display the filename and enlargement UI.

Yes it does and it looks great!

You just taught me a couple of things.

Thank you! *wags tail*

It also looks like you can set the displayed image size in the post editor, so next time we should try uploading a 4x copy and setting the CSS width/height to 50%. That still won’t help anyone with >2x UI scaling, but it’ll help for anything up to that which is probably most people.
