I got you, but I suppose this list is only for grafik-tabletsš¤
Who has to develop a feature in a foss project? Those who want something in that software. I suggested that you take up the task, as you are already familiar with the current changes and how the sonarpen works.
And donāt misunderstand: Sonarpen is an AMAZING product. The idea itself is genius and that there IS krita support is mind-blowing. So many more new artists can take up a sonarpen and start their journey to become an artist. Well, if their tablets have enough performance, at least.
So you have my gratitude for developing the sonarpen support.
I manager to install the āKrita sonar verrsiónā apk⦠but itās not working properly, itās just like randomly changing the line thickness, I tried to set the pressure with Krita settings and also Sonar calibration app, but it seems itās not helping
Hi! I have a Xiaomi Redmi pad Moon silver. My SonarPen works perfectly on Ibis Paint, but itās malfunctioning on Krita.
I used the SonarPen Calibrate app already, the SonarPen works perfectly on that app. But, when I am working on Krita eeem letās just say itās not predictable⦠Iāve tried many pressure settings, butā¦
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 9.7 is reported to be compatible with the SonarPen. So as long as you are able to install and run the Krita apk that we provided, SonarPen should run on it.
Thanks for the recording. I am thinking the random pressure could cause when TOUCH PAINTING is enabled (default setting). Try disable it, and confirm by finger no longer able to draw on the canvas. Then you should be able to control the stroke width by pressure on the SonarPen.
Let me know if this help and I will update my previous post to help other to setup their Krita app to work wtih the SonarPen.
Sorry, I took my time to answer you. I tried that anda lot more of settings. Honestly I spent the whole afternoon of the Saturday trying to to find out a setup or, well, find a way for the SonarPen to works properly on Krita. I couldnāt.
I think Iām going to give up, I am really stressed about that right now.
Sorry that I canāt provide more useful help to you. Until the Krita development team picks up the patch work that we have done, the SonarPen support on Krita is not optimizated. It may work better on some devices than the others.
A bit of update for people following the topic. At the end of 2024, Krita developer, @dkazakov got in touch with me and brought up issues that he found in SonarPen support that we have proposed. Mainly, in our implementation, the SonarPen driver is enabled all the time and that increase the foot print of the app even for Krita users that are not using the SonarPen. The Krita developer gave me a lot of guide line and we are almost complete the rework of the SonarPen support.
We still have a small piece of code needed to be fixed to suit the need of the āOpennessā nature of Krita. There are different ways us to do the change, and we are waiting for Krita developer side input.
In the mean time, let me know if you found any issue with the latest apk. Thanks.
Hey Elton! I find the idea of sonapen for android in combination with krita terrific!
Sadly I donāt own a sonarpen and I see another problem with your download, as it is a private apk⦠it is not save for users to trust private apk. How about an official post on the krita website to notify more people and legitimate your package?
the apk was made by us internally, I am just providing it for anyone who wants to try. It is NOT an offical Krita release. We are working toward that goal.
As I mentioned, there is a small piece of code within our source code needed to be fixed. We are still waiting for direction from Krita developer.
If this ends up being something that is approved for the website and someone is needed to create a document for that (I think they use MRs) using @eltonās post, Iād be happy to help.
Ideally, it would be better if you privided patches to krita-deps-management and krita repos, then we could use official CI pipelines for building packages.
We have just added SonarPen support to the latest version of Krita, V5.2.9.1. Built on the last one, we have added two new options to the SonarPen settings panel which will make pressure detection much smoother than the previous one. The option to customize the SonarPen button is also added to the panel too.
Under the hood, we have completed changed how SonarPen SDK is integrated with the Krita (advised by Krita core developer dkazakov) The SonarPen SDK is completely open source now which aligned with the open source license of Krita.
This is very likely the last version of Krita that is complied by us, I hope the effort that we put into the SonarPen integration will help the Krita development team to pick it up more easliy and have SonarPen support baked into the official Android Krita app just like the S-Pen for Samsung devices.
Wow! you enable every android user to draw on their devices with the SonarPen and krita! You have my respect! I donāt own a sonarpen, but I suspect that this could be a very important point in time we are witnessing.
@Deevad@RamonM What do you think, about a video reviewing the SonarPen in conjunction with krita ?
