how long did it take?

Usually ~2 hours but it can take an hour longer for color corrections or when having a bad day/unexpected interruptions.

Thank you so much! Using only the selection tool would involve too much time for a speedpaint. I also heavily use the preinstalled brushes. There are a lot of great options 
. P.s.: I was so focused on this one in my reply, for other speedpaintings I use the selection tool e.g. for the rough base of a planet, it is otherwise too difficult to create a perfect circle quickly :), and add smaller details with a brush.

Honestly this level of control using just selection tool show an insane amount of practice. Its really hard to come up with a piece just using selection tool for drawing shapes. Kudos to you

You will probably get faster results with the polygon, ellipse, and rectangle tools. Krita is such great software!
