Still life, in process

I created my own brush that imitates a graphite pencil, as it imitates quite well for me. This is my pencil test. Now I probably have to finish this work, but my drawing time is up for today)

new iteration

I think these are the last changes) The pencil works well, which means I have to draw many more beautiful things)

Thank you. I was helped by the construction of shapes and custom brush settings, thanks to which I can apply even strokes like a traditional drawing

Beautiful work, both compositionally and technically. Pencil is my favorite tool, and I won’t hide from you that I would love to try the brush you created for this study.

Thank you. I think in a digital environment it can be done more practically, but I enjoyed this traditional approach)

Hello. Thank you. Unfortunately, I had some problems and must have lost my pencil. But it doesn’t matter, you can use any of the basic pencils. The main “secret” I discovered is that in traditional drawing we do not make any effort to draw a light transparent line with a pencil. I mean, in the digital environment, we put a lot of effort into controlling the pressure of the brush and painting easily. And in traditional drawing, on the contrary, we draw easily and only press the pencil where necessary. This is the “naturalness” I tried to adjust in my brush. This can be done in the settings by playing a little with the pressure curve.
It looked something like the screenshot.

The more you stroke the same place, the darker the tone becomes, that is, you gain tone as in traditional drawing

I thank you very much. I am sorry that you lost your pencil but I agree with you when you say that it is enough to work a little bit with the existing presets to get variations that suit one’s working style. I am just now studying Krita’s brush engines but have already gotten interesting pencils to experiment with and it is a real joy.
