Still life study using new colored pencil brushes

For this study, I used just 3 of the colored pencil brushes from the bundle @RamonM released this week (SK2 Colored Pencil Normal, SK2-04 2B Powder Shader, Sk2-03 2B Shader). Pencil comments below the image.

Two things really stand out with these pencils. First, they’re really pressure responsive, exactly like real coloured pencils. You can gently lay down colour and gradually increase it quite easily. Second thing I really like is the texture they create. I think the finished image looks like I added a textured paper but I didn’t. This was a really nice surprise.

This study is based on Blue Still Life by Leonidovich (1933-2007) painted in 1988.

I get excited hearing about artists utilizing new tools and techniques, and yet I am still wringing the goodness out of what I have. Maybe one day I will have everything, but then where would I put it all? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
