Straight line with brush

How can you make a straight line in krita using the brush?
:thinking::thinking::thinking:
When I used Photoshop, it was enough to press the Shift key.
In krita instead it makes you increase the size of the brush.
Also i noticed that it is not possible to save in PDF format, why??
That format is very practical in the printing phase.
Sorry for the english but i use google translate.

You can use the line tool. I know you specified “using the brush tool”, but the line tool actually takes into account the brush you’re using, as do the other shape tools! You can even switch the brush, as you’d do with the brush tool while using them. If you have to switch between regular brush and line so often that it’s a bother to change tool, you may want to go in your settings and set a keyboard shortcut for the “line” tool.

Hi, I think the default shortcut is V, it invokes a temporary line tool with the current brush. Also after you hold down V, you can also hold SHIFT and then it will snap the line to specific angles (such as 90 degrees, etc).

Although the line tool behaves a bit counter-intuitively (IMO) in Krita. Generally pressure sensitivity tends to go a bit wild. So YMMV.

Regarding the pdf format, here’s info from the manual:

yes, I already use the line tool, but it involves an interruption of the line during a drawing.
While a hotkey when using the brush would have been useful in my view.
And could be a simple and good implementation in a future version of the program, at least in my view.

HI!
Thanks I didn’t know that.
I will proceed to try this advice of yours to see if it can help me.

HI!
Thanks for the info. :slightly_smiling_face:
Too bad it won’t be implemented in the future either :pensive:
It is a format that is often used in print.
Having to use different programs for a now universal format is a gap in my opinion, since any program has this saving format.
But that’s okay!
I don’t know why Krita doesn’t want to include this kind of format, but I think it will have its reasons.
