Listen, I like the idea of Artfight a lot. But at the same time, it does feel a little constraining; it slightly feels like it’s more geared towards younger audiences, or people that have “OC plots” only and not much else besides it.
This is not a critique of Artfight, but instead consider this a semi-spin-off.
The General Idea
Instead of focusing on characters, let’s approach this with a bit more variety!
Anyone can start a “chain”. Let’s just say that you add a specific header to your title, like “Frost”. Your initial starting piece is, for example, a frosty landscape. In the post you attach the art, and a description of what you’d like to see drawn from other folks; this doesn’t have to be the title of the chain! Basically, it would go in steps like this:
- Add a chain title (this can be anything you’d like)
- Attach starting art that you’ve made
- Add a description for what you’d like to see others draw. This can include visuals, audio, links to photos, or just text!
- Other people can start different chains or join your chain.
- Repeat above steps
Etcetera
This is a pretty rough idea, mainly because sometimes I’d just like to make something different than what Artfight expects of me. I love character art, sure, but sometimes you wanna take a little break; maybe do a study, or draw something more abstract, base art off of a nice tune you’ve heard… so that’s why this is a pretty rough idea – I’d love to hear feedback from everyone here on the forums!
