It would be super cool if the new Krita Android version could support the pressure sensitive SonarPen, so that anyone who has a stylus-less Android device can upgrade his/her drawing experience with Krita.
Unlike the new iPad which has a companion, Apple Pencil, it is quite difficult and expensive to add a pressure sensitive stylus for drawing on an Android. We created the SonarPen to fill the gap, it has 3 major functions:
pressure sensitive
palm / finger rejection (depends on the Android touch screen)
shortcut button
The SonarPen SDK is ready. The stylus is compatilble with ibis paint, Artflow and Flipaclip on Android. Please contact us, so we can send the developer a SonarPen for evulation and intergation.

Right now, we only support pen input through Qt’s integration with Android’s pen support. We don’t have any code for interfacing with tablets and pens inside Krita itself. Google wants us to look into their new high-frequence pen library, but we’re still discussing whether that’s actually legal for us, since the library’s license isn’t compatible with GPL v3.
Seems more like it needs to be integrated on Android level as a driver or something so that the inputs can go through Qt’s interface, since Krita doesn’t interfaces with any input device directly.
Years has passed, may I know if Krita ( Android ) is using the high-frequence pen library now. We have recently released a Windows driver to make SonarPen function like Windows INK pen. And Krita works with SonarPen out of the box. If you like to know more: www.sonarpen.com/windows
