@ari Thanks for explaining the SZK app. I do agree, the app is awesome and I agree it is super helpful in the creative workflow. I love your painting btw. 10/10 to @Suzuka.
It would however be nice to have a switch to create random 3 tone thumbnails to spark creativity, dont you think… Since Alchemy is open source and I know there are people out there that could accomplish what we are talking about. I do think SZK stands on its own and is a breakthrough for artists just the way it is now.
Yes, @Barry_De_Beer,I am really enjoying this plug in and thanks for the appreciation also .
I hope someday someone will have enough time and motivation to pursue those advanced options we are discussing currently.
Because they do it for free and out of sheer love and passion, which is absolutely commendable !
Till then keep appreciating these current magicians !
By the way,if you are looking for few other thumbnailing options/ templates, here’s another.
Thanks for discovering me Alchemy, I didn’t know about it and seems pretty awesome for concept art. I’ve been testing it a bit and it does some pretty unique things with the “affect” modificators. Imitate their behavior in krita would be hard, but not the end result.
About auto generating random thumbnails, is something I’ve considered and I’m very interested.
I did a script once for automatically do some brush strokes in a Krita document, and if I recall correctly, its performance wasn’t the best (even though it made more things than painting, so maybe I could check it again).
Another way could be to modify directly the layer/image pixel per pixel. I did something similar in my pixel art plugin, even though it was meant for pixel art (small canvases with not so many pixels), so I would have to test its performance.
TLDR; is doable to auto generate thumbnails. I think the thing that kinda “pulls me back” for adding it is that I’m not optimistic about the generated images. Maybe they are so bad that made me rename the plugin to “Crappy Thumbnail Generator” haha.
I personally feel that having the Select Random Brush in a shortcut, and quickly spam it and painting randomly in a thumbnail with some “purppose” would be more effective for creating a random base to work with.
But again, is something that I have in mind and I may add it in the future, even if is just for the fun
Thanks for the upgrade!
And the idea for comic artists sounds good. I think that should be publicized on a broader level. How about adjusting your headline to reflect this potential use case/application?
Thanks a ton @Suzuka !
Never expected that you will be so fast to make these updates.
These are exactly what I was looking for !
Made a two minutes test and just loved the randomness !
Loved the flexibility of accessing the selections individually as per requirement .
It gives ample scope to revisit and develop the thumbnails over a extended period of time .
Great touch,thanks !
You are welcome @ari !
By the way, it looks awesome as always! I specially love the vibe of the top right, it already feels like very epic and melancholic.
