I especially love the lighting in your artworks – always looking very realistic and vibrant. It’s one thing that always stands out to me. I also didn’t realize that you use Blender in your paintings, which only goes to show you use it well
I didn’t think I’ll sit through the whole video, but I’m glad I did! Was really interesting to hear your thoughts on the process and how you approach your art. I still think of myself as a beginner (well, maybe early intermediate), so I’m always curious about the time required to complete these highly polished paintings. I’m glad to hear that 10, 20, or 40 hours are perfectly normal. As I work (very slowly) on my own stuff, it helps me not get too paranoid

I seriously had the same anxiety when I started out. I was very obsessed with time and how long it takes pros to do their work. I always wondered how people can put out so much art required to be a working professional… I felt so slow, I felt like I could never keep up. I still couldn’t actually, lol. But I think I manage better now.
It took me forever to realize that taking your time and not worrying about quantity is actually better. Quality is so much more important than quantity.
@sooz @Sineater I love James Gurney… I, however, have yet to check out the books that made him famous. I need to get around to it soon.
