Testing Krita on Phone (Galaxy Note 9)

Time-lapse screen recording: Testing Krita on Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Time-lapse quick painting) - YouTube

I decided to give krita a try on my phone today, so far so good it seems to work well. My phone got a bit warm tho, but I assume it’s because I was also screen recording for a while.

Apart from the good quality of the artwork, I’m surprised that this can be done on a phone (even a big one) and amazed that you can do video screen recordings at the same time.

Did you do it with the 5.0.0 Recorder docker or with a separate video capture application?

Thank you.
I made with a separate screen recorder, krita 5 is not available on android yet.

Hi

Not sure if it’s important, but you should take care about phone notifications:
Your email address is visible

And really interesting to see Krita running on an Android device.
Looking phone specification, it start to be to big to be able to be kept in a pocket, but small seems to be to small to be able to draw easily… (for my eyes  )

You’re drawing on a 4096px size document?

Thanks , i didn’t even notice that.

I made on 2048×2048 at 400 ppi

Oh ok.
The phone seems able to manage this size without lag :+1:

In fact I’m wondering what are the limits on a phone (dimension/number of layers) before it start to become difficult to draw on a such device (freezes/lag…)

Anyway your painting is very good, I wasn’t aware it was possible to get result like this from a phone (even with Krita )
