Hello there, I mostly do merchandise design and stuff like that. Here’s one of the new shirts of my own small clothing line called Upheart:
Hi guys, here’s a start of a small sketchbook since I almost always forget to share my art or can’t really share it until it is released by the clients on their merchandise or LPs/EPs.
In this case I got the ok from the band to show it a little bit earlier, before the release (a hard-core/punk/metal band from southwest germany).
I have worked on this artwork for about three weeks in my evenings after my regular job. The EP will come out sometime soon. Just did it for fun and to really give Krita the performance test I was wanting to do for a long time. Resolution is 8000x8000 pixels, with about 20 layers and a system of Ryzen 1700X 8-core 3,8 GHz CPU, NVidia GTX 1060 (6GB VRAM) and 16GB of RAM.
For the most part it went well. The drawing, that is. Brushes respond well and fast, and as long as I don’t use too many layers it is great. However, the effects, especially the layer effects and filter layers can be VERY slow (sometimes up to 30-40 seconds until anything responds again and rendering the whole canvas is finished), especially on this resolution. But they are important, since sometimes the client might change their mind and want something to be changed that can be changed very easy with non-destructive stuff like filter layers.
Krita is very capable and I am proud to say that the only thing I did on this that is not in Krita was the text and saving the final artwork in multiple resolutions. So the art is all 100% completely done in Krita 5.1.
