I barely understand how this software works at all and I’m getting infuriated because of it. I’m stitching everything together as best as I can because this program is actively irritating me with how confusing the UI is. I drew a circle, selected it and copy/pasted the circle into each proceeding frame down the timeline.
After that, I have no idea what happened, because now the freehand brush tool will not show anything I’ve drawn on ANY layer or any frame, even if I make new layers. I know it’s drawing something, because when I undo, the amount of times I’ve stroked the pen across the tablet is corresponding with the times I’ve clicked “undo”. The thing is the other tools work fine and it doesn’t matter what brush or pen or utensil I select, NOTHING will display what I draw on the screen at all, and I am wracking my brain around this, losing my temper and frustration as mentioned before, because I am already having an incredibly difficult time trying to figure out how to maneuver through this complicated UI.
This is a picture of how everything looks after trying to constantly tamper with things, so please tell me what is wrong because I can’t deal with this nonsense.
There might be a tiny selection still on the canvas that you might not be noticing. Try seeing if Select → Deselect (on the top menu bar) or pressing Ctrl + Shift + A resolves your issue.
I’m just so used to Paint Tool SAI who’s infrastructure is MUCH more user friendly to comprehend and to manipulate. The fact that I have to deselect through the keyboard shortcut rather than just tapping off of the selected area to cancel selection is definitely going to mess with me.
The first time that you ever used SAI, was its interface and methods of working very obvious to you? Did you never get confused by anything at all?
With krita, you can deselect an existing selection by tapping/clicking anywhere on the canvas - provided the selection Action is set to Replace and provided you’re using one of the ‘shape’ selection tools.
