The idea for this drawing came from an old photo downloaded from the internet years ago. The aim was to capture the man’s expression rather than his likeness, which was so unimportant in this context. I was struck by the dignity with which this poor man, wearing a tattered shirt, joyfully drinks his cup of coffee. A subject that the great Van Gogh would never have missed.
This art remember me of a brazilian song: “Preciso me encontrar” from Cartola. Very nostalgic! Great job!
