The PAN tool keyboard shortcut doesn't work after zooming in

The PAN tool keyboard shortcut doesn’t work after zooming in.

  • It still works if you only zoom out but I am constantly zooming in & out of my art so it definitely has an effect on my work.

  • I found clicking on a tool bar tool button makes the short cut work again.

I am using Krita 5.0.6 on a fairly fast iMac purchased in 2020 with plenty of ram & disk space. This happened in 5.0.5 too. I don’t think it happened before 5.0.5.

This is my first time posting. If this isn’t the correct place for this question I apologize & will move it

Hello and welcome to the forum

Do you zoom in with the mouse scroll wheel or do you use the Ctrl+Space+left-click-drag action?

Do you Pan with the Toolbox Pan tool or do you use Space+ ?

There was a bug on Windows where rapid and repeated changes between Ctrl+Space+ and Space+ caused some kind of lockup of those actions.

Hi AhabGreybeard,

I use “command, spacebar” to temporarily switch to the magnification tool. I also use “command+” & “command-” to zoom in & out. (on Mac I think “command” is used in place of “control” in a lot of instances)

I forgot that Macs have the Cmd key instead of the Ctrl key
The Windows bug I mentioned doesn’t happen on Linux systems so I’m surprised that a Mac seems to have something similar.

All I can suggest is that you raise a formal bug report at:
https://bugs.kde.org/
(Sign up and sign in are needed.)

Please post a link here to any bug report you raise.

Thanks very much for the link to the “Bugs” site. I placed a report yesterday. No response yet but thanks to you, it now has a chance to get in front of some eyes that could do something about the problem.

For anyone who wants to know, the bug report is:
453972 – keyboard shortcut "Command+" stops other keyboard shortcuts from working, like 'spacebar' for pan tool, 'Command' for color picker. It also stops movement of the canvas using the magic mouse touch pad
