Always when you create a topic in the help section of our forum, that is the section we are currently in, and it is recognizable through the help of the green marks, like the squares under your heading, do name:
The OS you use and its version.
The version of Krita you use, like Krita 5.2.6.
From where you have got your copy of Krita?
And if it is about your graphics tablet, name make and model of that too.
Krita already comes with a basic set of 112 patterns installed.
These patterns are found in Krita’s resource folder, and there in the folder patterns.
You’ll find your resource folder via:
‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage Resources…’’ >> ‘‘Open Resource Folder’’
It is NOT in your installation directory (okay, it is there too, but you should absolutely avoid touching the installation folder of Krita in cases you don’t know what you are doing). And you don’t know what you do, so leave that folder untouched!
Have you perhaps disabled Krita’s bundles? So the bundles
Krita_3_Default_Resources.bundle
Krita_4_Default_Resources.bundle
Krita_Artists_SeExpr_examples.bundle
RGBA_brushes.bundle
Have you disabled or deleted the files in %APPDATA%\krita\patterns\?
What do you exactly mean with frame, are you creating an animation?
You say, that when you open Layerstyles and select Pattern Overlay you can not see any patterns on the right side. Please show us a screenshot from that window.
On my side it looks like in my screenshot.
