The redo/undo shortcut keys on my tablet don't work

[I don’t really know what category to put this in, so sorry if it’s the wrong one… I use a; Windows 10 (Can’t be up to date), Krita-x6-5.1.5 (I redownloaded today to make sure it was up to date), XPPenWin_3.4.7.2 (I also redownloaded it today to make sure it was up to date)]

The issue I’m having is that I have the shortcuts set up properly, IE “CTRL+Shift+Z”=“Redo”,& “CTRL+Z”=“Undo”…
Although it’s set up properly, it refuses to work properly in Krita.
It can not be that the shortcut doesn’t work on my tablet, as
1.The other shortcuts I use work perfectly fine (brush size increasing & decreasing, color selection, eraser mode, saving my drawing, and creating a new canvas)
and
2.The undo & redo shortcut keys work perfectly fine in MS Paint.

As I already reinstalled both programs for the tablet & krita, I have no other idea what I should do or what is causing this issue
[I also accidentally deleted a default brush a couple of months ago and can’t seem to find a way to restore it… it was my favorite brush :sob:]

Those are default shortcuts that don’t require any setting up on the part of the user. Did you make changes to the shortcuts within the Canvas Inputs settings? If you did, you probably created a conflict somewhere.

Or maybe, what you mean is you’re pressing buttons on your tablet that correspond to the undo/redo shortcuts and your buttons are not working?

Give us more info.

I am pressing the buttons on my tablet that correspond to the undo/redo, and it does not work for krita, but it does work on MS Paint… And The only place I edit it is in my drawing tablet program where I set up the undo/redo shortcuts… I did not edit the corresponding shortcuts in my krita settings…

That’s good info.

We usually tell people if there’s any problem between Krita and a tablet to update the tablet drivers as a first step (even if the tablet seems to be working with other apps). Can you do that? Be sure to follow your tablet’s instructions - some of them are very picky as to how updates are done. If you do end up updating the tablet driver, remember to restart your device.

Once your drivers are confirmed to be up to date, can you look at the Krita profile that you set up in your tablet’s interface? Once you’re in the Krita profile, check the settings for your tablet buttons.

It would be a good idea to update your Windows 10 installation before you do anything else.
(What exactly do you mean by, “Can’t be up to date”?)

Even if that is the latest driver from the XP-Pen website, reinstall it anyway after first uninstalling it and then restarting your computer.

That is assuming you already had created a specific application profile for krita in your tablet settings/config utility.
If you already have one, delete it, close then reopen the tablet utility and make a fresh profile for krita.

From my experience with Wacom these buttons are often set to actions but not every software does understand these. What I did was to change the buttons to invoke the key presses instead, which is ctrl + z (undo) and ctrl + shift + z (redo). If your tablet driver supports application profiles I recommend creating a new one for Krita and map the buttons to those key combinations. This worked for me with Wacom and it’s probably similar for yours.
