Tilt not working with XP-Pen Artist 12

Type of device* : display tablet
Brand and version of the device: XP-Pen Artist 12
System** : Windows 11

I have recently acquired an XP-Pen Artist 12 and everything except the tilt direction detection seems to work. I know for sure that the brushes have tilt functionality since I used it all the time with my Huion H1060p. I have also tried reinstalling the drivers and removing any old tablet drivers. I have also tried using Windows Ink and not using windows ink. Interestingly, the “disable tilt” box is only one I can often not tick; sometimes I can tick it but I don’t know when.

I’ve mainly tested in krita, since in the only other drawing software I own, CSP, I actually don’t know which brushes support tilt.
I would very much appreciate possible suggestions to fix this issue.

It looks like you haven’t made an application profile for krita.
You should do that then close the XP-Pen setup utility then try again.

I assume that you wouldn’t normally want to tick it.

Edit:Add: I’ve edited the title of your topic.

I have added the Krita.exe in the bin folder, but that unfortunately doesn’t seem to have fixed it.

I mentioned it because it felt like the software itself seems to be able to tell that it’s not working. Though currently I can actually tick it. It obviously doesn’t work then. I wanted to see if ticking it and unticking it would fix something, but that didn’t seem to do anything.

Did you make sure that those settings were matched by the Wintab/Windows-Ink settings in krita?

In CSP, can you edit a brush so that it does use Tilt input to see if it works in CSP?

Given that your Huion 1060p worked to drive Tilt in krita, it does suggest that there is a problem with your XP-Pen tablet, unless there’s a very subtle problem with the settings in the tablet or the settigs (which are very few in number) in krita.

How about editing a krita brush preset so it responds to X-Tilt, Y-Tilt or Tilt Elevation to see if those are the signals coming out of the XP-Pen tablet?

I have the same tablet. As far as I know it doesn’t support tilt at all. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I cannot find anything in the specs either. Unless it is the 12 pro version, which supports 60° tilt. No idea why it is a setting at all.

I remember reading in a few reviews that it should at least support tilt direction detection, but reading the product page and it not being advertised there and reading other reviews paying special attention to the pen spec section it does seem like it does indeed not have tilt support.

So, yeah I guess this thread is kind of pointless.
