Wow! Your titmouse currently tops the others by far.
It seems to be the extremely rare Jedi tit that has now been captured in a picture for the first time, at least I don’t know of any other tit that could banish the stick it is sitting on with the help of the Force.

Awesome. Absolutely adore how you rendered the stick, it looks so cozy. The titmouse ain’t half bad either!
@kacart also drew a Tufted Titmouse before- it’s what inspired me to do a Black-Crested one. We should hold a bird art party sometime.
Ha! A tit showing eh?
Well done on this one! Looking forward to more!
Nah, Yoda is sitting in the swap below.
The stick l0oked alright with just a Basic brush, and for the feathers i was trying @Rakurri 's rbs) Softrake, which made pretty quick work of them - I overlayed two layers to fill gaps.
In truth, as usual, I actually just needed to go to bed (really about half an hour ago). I thought it looked fun like this and was better than cropping it narrower.
Don’t worry, it’s a cool and good picture, whether cropped or not.

it’s like a birdwatching festival but with painting

Awesome!
love the eye
Thanks! It probably clashes a bit being so sharp compared to the brush I used for the feathers, it’s hard to know how to reconcile the two without adding detail to the feathers, which I was trying to do with the brush I was trying out.
OOo, that’s a really good idea for a challenge or competition! The storyline could be that we are out bird watching and need to draw what we spot! Hey @sooz and @Elixiah, @rosa has prompted a great idea for a competition if we get stuck for ideas - thought I’d let you know in case a winner of the monthly comp gets stuck for an idea or wants to offer the role to someone else.
How do you structure this, get the proportions right, and still get every texture!?!? I’m trying so hard to make a simple red cardinal and I can’t even get the background right!?!?
I had a layer for
highlights
eyes and feet
feathers x 3 layers
stick
rough background with blur filter
