To specify - you can use Shortcut Composer to get this feature before this wish is done (this can take a lot of time, and maybe it won’t be done ever). I use it myself and it works fine. The problem is that my implementation basically finds and presses the buttons that activate those modes. If krita changes its GUI, moves those buttons, change their name or anything - the feature will break.
I will be fixing those issues if they occur, but I really hope that those actions can get into vanilla krita, so that I can implement it in a way that should not break at all.

Can you please test the nightlies and check if this feature request can be closed and the votes released
I took a look and the shortcuts do seem to be working.
This will very cool to go straight to the right operation without the need of a window to toggle to the right one.
the only way to make it even better would be to only trigger when you click on the canvas to apply the action and this only because other tools work like that, but that would be out of scope.
