Tried to make a solid stamp brush but for some reason it has opacity

How do I remove the opacity from a brush?

Probably like this:

  • Select ‘Opacity’

  • Make sure it’s set to Strength: 100%

  • Uncheck ‘enable pen settings’ (Used for pressure sensitivity).

If you find it still needs work after you follow @Mythmaker’s tip, uncheck “strength” in the texture section.

Hi thanks for taking the time. Is the opacity setting you meant? It doesn’t seem to have effected the brush.

Hi, thanks for taking the time. Sadly this doesn’t seem to have an effect.

I don’t think that setting does anything unless pattern is enabled.

Do you have pen settings enabled for ‘Flow’? That does a similar thing to opacity, so needs to be set like I suggested for that.

No change I’m afraid.

Blending mode not set to normal?

In this case it looks like it may be the brushtip itself is the source of the opacity (note how it’s grey rather than black).

Ah! - I think you’ve got it!

That would have been my next guess, but it does show ‘normal’ in the first image.

Would using solid purple instead of black have done that, and if so how do I change it please?

Yep its set to normal.

Try creating a circle tip using the auto tip setting instead - no need to use a predefined one for a simple circle.

When using a predefined tip set to ‘Alpha Mask’, the values (greyscale) will determine the opacity. So - a solid black is needed for it to be fully opaque.

That’s fixed it thankyou so much.
