When I’m selecting a color to make a gradient, the selected area is deselected after I chose the 1st color. It does the same thing when I chose the 2nd color. I can’t get the right color from the source photo.
I don’t see that happen with version 5.0.6 on my Chromebook.
I don’t get any kind of ‘blinking’ of the gradient area either.
This would need advice from @sh-zam.
Krita, vector mode… What I expect: ability to select color for gradients and solids from the reference image, and/or the raster layer.
What is happening: Color selection is not working when on Vector layer, cannot select colors from reference image. Colors selected from raster layer aren’t carried over to Vector layer. Color seems to be able to be chosen from the installed palettes only.
There is some serious bugginess going on with the gradient fill for vectors in the Tool Options docker. When I previously tried it with 5.0.6 on ChromeOS, I didn’t do anything complicated.
Testing on Windows 10 with 5.0.6 and 5.1.0-beta2:
The 5.1.0-beta2 no longer has the refusal to edit the end stop problem but it seems to have more problems.
At one point with 5.0.6, I totally lost the FG-> BG gradient and had two GPS Eye (Blue) gradients.
Then the gradient collection went back to normal after I closed 5.0.6 and started 5.1.0-beta2 and then had more bugs.
Please raise a bug report at https://bugs.kde.org/ then post a link to it in a reply here.
Formal bug reports are not ‘rejected’. They are investigated and then, hopefully for you, Confirmed. After which comes the wait for getting fixed and set to Resolved.
I suggest that you read a few krita bug reports to get a feel for the ‘style’ of them.
The actual mechanisms for reporting, especially making attachments if you want to, are a bit clunky though. You can’t edit a bug report once you’ve made it but you can make additional comments later.
Yes, there have been a few insidious bugs with vectors. In particular with gradients. I recently fixed a bug and a few other related bugs along with it.
Speaking of Android, Krita does allow picking color from references and other raster layers, so this seems like an Android’s problem, so, I’ve assigned the bug to myself
