Typical bubbles for comics, how do I do them?

Greetings.
I don’t know if somebody is seeing this. I feel like people are not so so active here but still
here’s a subject regarding Krita again.

The question is simple. See the bubbles in the picture ? the inner white is transparent while
the stroke is 100% opaque. Also, look at the interesting polygonal
bubble shapes. How do I achieve that in Krita ?

???
Not sure to understand what you mean…

Answer is simple

  1. Create a vector layer
  2. Use ellipse/polygon tools to draw bubbles
You can also use rectangle, line, bezier curves, … or can also import SVG files if you already have some bubble models
  3. On selected shape, set stroke color

And set background color, with an alpha value to get a transparency

Krita also comes with a premade speech-bubble vector library, with bubbles created by David Revoy.

Exact.
Forgot this solution.

But they need some extra manipulation before being able to be used as requested:

  • Ungroup balloon (twice?)
  • Logical operation > Unite

Otherwise 100% opacity border + N% opacity background can’t be applied.

Thanks for the solution. This helps me.

Check this thread for some more explainations.

Oh? I never knew that, how do I use those?

@Michos - Enable the Vector Libraries docker and it has a drop down list of the libraries, with two sets of speech/thought/etc balloons.
Drag any library item onto the canvas to use it.

As noted by @Grum999 , they are grouped in the library and also get grouped again when you drag them onto the canvas so you have to Ungroup them twice to work on them.
