Unsure if performance issue or graphics bug on Android 7.0.1 Lenovo Yoga Book yb1-x90f

Hello all, I recently found my 2-in-1 Lenovo Android tablet after moving and wanted to start creating art with it so I downloaded Krita! Unfortunately upon drawing in it it seems to only display small sections of the canvas, when rotating and scaling the canvas everthing updates correctly. I’m not sure if this a bug or just what the program does for performance. I understand that my tablet is 8 years old now.

Hi @eyesofisla

Hello @sooz !

Thank you, I’ve just uploaded a YouTube video of what happens here https://youtu.be/DLsdZMkoQNc?si=9qYEIMzWfkYpNfWM

Update, I downloaded Krita 4.4.5 and I do not get this issue

Could be an issue with the canvas acceleration, I don’t know enough about Android to tell if Krita allows changing the graphics API there. It’s in the settings.

Thanks for the video. That’s truly odd, what’s happening. Possibly you’re Android version is too old for the new Krita version? I’m on Android 11 on low-spec tablet and that hasn’t happened.

You can stick with that older version of Krita or you might like HiPaint. It doesn’t have all the features of Krita but it’s very good and seems to take less resources than Krita.

I’ve created a bug report here: 490260 – When drawing only small square sections of the canvas are displayed.
Also I found this issue is not present on 5.0.6
