Those were my entries for the January 2026 Art Challenge: “Vintage Travel Poster”.
I made a diptych dedicated to one of my favourite games ever: Valheim! For those who don’t know, in Valheim you are a dead Viking sent to the 10th world of Yggdrasil by Odin to beat some rebellious bosses into submission. There is a per biome progression, and in the 5 first biomes (Meadows, Black Forest, Swamps, Mountain, Plains) you can feel pretty lonely, as apart from a few isolated merchants, you will only encounter enemies. But in the 2 next biomes, the Mistlands and the Ashlands, you might encounter some friendly Dwarves, the Dvergar, who came here to acquire rare resources. They are doing pretty well in the Mistlands, where they can be solid allies against the local fauna if you don’t anger them, but the Ashlands are way more ruthless and their outposts there are often quickly overrun. I imagined propaganda posters they would make to invite more of their kind from Nidavellir…
Technical info: the font is called Norse and is 100% free on dafont.com; in order to try and achive that old poster look we’re after, I simply played with the “posterize” filter.
And here are the non-posterized versions, if you prefer… ![]()
