Very strange bug with pen speed and pressure (mouse mode)

Type of device* : XP-tablet “Pen tablet”
Brand and version of the device: Deco Fun L “PID:_0932”
System** : Win 10

My pen is going 2/1 or even 3/1 distance on the screen with Windows Ink, because of that i need to use mouse mode " to manually adjust speed ", but with mouse mode the pressure doesn’t work.
In other programs like FireAlpaca the pressure work with the same settings.

Due to the fact that I have not seen anyone have a similar problem, I assume that this is a bug on my side.
If anyone can tell me how to adjust the speed in Windows Ink it will also solve my problem.

Hi @Dumitru_Elenciuc

Most Windows users find they have to turn off Windows Ink in Krita and also do the same in their tablet interface.

In Krita, you do this by selecting WinTab instead of Windows Ink in Tablet Settings (inside Configure Krita). Restart Krita so it will take effect.

Do the same in your tablet interface, then test. Let us know if this helped.

 Hello @Dumitru_Elenciuc and welcome to the forum!

First, you should create a profile for Krita (and any other software) in your tablet driver.

In your tablet driver, where the pen buttons can be assigned functions, there should be an option at the bottom left to select and deselect Windows Ink, please deactivate it and confirm the entry as specified by XP-Pen.
Then in Krita, via ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Configure Krita’’ >> ‘‘Tablet Settings’’ activate the ‘‘WinTab’’ function and confirm with the OK button, then restart Krita.

Theoretically, that’s it. If it doesn’t work, reactivate Windows Ink in the driver and in Krita, via ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Configure Krita’’ >> ‘‘Tablet Settings’’ set the point in front of ‘‘Windows 8+ Pointer Input (Windows Ink)’’ again, then OK again, restart Krita.

I think i have poorly write my question, with these settings my pressure is ok and it work, but with mouse mode “in my tablets driver” the pressure doesn’t work "i have used literally any combination of settings in krita "i have restarted krita after every change to see that doesn’t help, just in other programs it works.

I need to use mouse mode because my pen speed is like 2x faster than on my tablet with other options like windows ink or without it.

So the pressure in not really my problem.

Sry for bad english

It really does seem like a driver issue (hence the comments about making the Windows Ink situation match between Krita and your tablet interface).

In all the settings you’ve tried, have you set both to not use Windows Ink and tested it – and if that wasn’t good then set both to use Windows Ink and tested?

PS I’ve been assuming you already updated the tablet driver.

Yes i have tried all mathematically possible variations with krita restart, both to not use Windows Ink.
But the drivers i didnt change because everything worked for me in other applications, my driver is also not very old, is like 0.5-1 year.

And when i say that it work in other applications i mean that mouse mode work in this applications, i have manually correct the speed multiplier to 1 to 1 ratio and all work, “pressure and speed” the only exception is krita

Krita may be the only app you use that relies on the driver. Many other apps “talk” to the tablet, Krita does not. It relies 100% on signals from the operating system which are delivered via the driver. That means that your tablet’s performance with other apps is not a reliable indicator of an up to date, functioning driver.

EDIT: But this doesn’t mean I’m right. I’m only guessing and trying to help.

Should i reinstall my drivers?

You should go to the website for your tablet and read their instructions for installing drivers to be sure the driver you have is up to date and functioning.

Some have very specific steps as to how to uninstall/reinstall/update.

It work, the driver was the issue, the mouse mode start working as intended.
Speed and pressure, all work!
I dont know why because the tablet itself is not new is like from 2020, i have buy it in 2023 “i have installed brand new drivers at that time” so there is no reason to have not functional drivers in one of the most popular drawing apps, but it have.

Thx for you help, the fact that everything worked in another program confused me and I thought the problem was something else from area of Black magic, i haved heavily customized/change/deleted most aspects of my Windows so if was a problem there, there was no hope for me.

Good work! If you mark your post solved, then others who have something similar in the future may see it and solve their problem.
