I would like to buy an XP-PEN tablet with a screen but I would like to know your experience with these tablets if you have one. I would like an Innovator 16, I have seen some tests on YouTube but I would like to know more about your experience as Krita users as I will be using Krita with it.
Any advice or comment would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I have a 22E Pro which I purchased in May I believe. The tablet experience for me was a very good one. Drawing on the screen is very comfortable and I never experienced a sense of parallax at all. All of the buttons work on my Windows based computer although I will admit I mostly use keyboard shortcuts however the buttons all worked. I am getting a new screen protector for Christmas as I either scratched the surface or allowed the oils on my hands to create a slight rainbow effect which is annoying but not a fail. Build quality is very good but probably not Wacom quality. Recently I moved and bought an XP Deco 2 tablet, my second, and the build quality was also good. Personally I would recommend my 22E tablet to others so I’m sure the one you were thinking of getting is even better quality. I am not a pro but I am a guy who cares about the quality of the stuff I buy. Money very well spent.
I had 16 artist pro and now I have 22R pro and both work great. Very nice to use.
Check https://www.youtube.com/user/teohyc on youtube he has plenty of reviews of tablets on windows and mac. I believe your option is there as well.
Most of his reviews are not sponsored so when he doesn’t like something or something doesn’t work you can hear it from him straight. He always tests in Krita (and other programs too).
This is good to hear, since for the longest time we’ve been recommending people not to get xp-pen tablets as relatively speaking it was the brand we got the most complaints about.
I think linux might be a different issues since I believe they only have beta drivers and it has been at that state for quite a long time now (if I remember correctly ;)).
But as far as I can tell I’ve been having xp-pen dispalys for a few years now while using krita for that period too and pretty much everything is solid (except the tilt having a slight issue which needs a firmware update from xp-pen).
I’m almost certain I had more issues with windows update than xp-pen displays so far xDD
i have an artist 24 pro and i’m really happy with it, no problem with Krita. I use Windows10 most of the time but i’ve tested the linux “driver” on kubuntu and it works fine too.
Before i had 2 Huion display tablet and so far i prefer the quality and the sav of xp-pen
Don’t know this model
On my side I have an XP PEN 13.3, might not be the best one (parallax problem) but enough for me (and my budget)
The question is more about your OS
Because on my side on Linux I don’t use provided drivers (that are not real drivers) and I had to made a custom configuration (little bit tricky: Graphic Tablets on Linux)
On windows, can’t tell if drivers are good or not, but reading other comments it should be ok.
Thank you very much for the answers. I am quite confident about buying an XP-Pen display tablet now. I am still a beginner with digital drawing so I think the Innovator 16 will be a good start.
