I am trying to draw a perspective picture where my canvas has to be very large during the process
So when im zoomed in and use the line tool and try to move it to the edge the screen dosent follow my cursor. Is this normal? or is there a way to turn it on?
At least for me, it works when I zoomed in deeply into a picture. To make Krita move the canvas you need to touch the edges of your canvas or painting area, but caution, you have to touch it only always for a short time till it starts moving because it very quickly “runs” quick as a hare, therefore I usually pull back when it starts moving to not end in nowhere land.
So, it is possible, but it could be more comfortable.
But maybe other users know better ways to reach your goal?
It’s contact of the cursor with the edge of the workspace that causes automatic panning so you can actually go a long way off-canvas if you want to.
This is the case for all ‘geometric’ drawing and selection tools but the left mouse button must be pressed while moving the tool cursor.
For me, this works with a mouse but does not work with a stylus even if the stylus is touching the tablet. I find this surprising because stylus movement automatically generates a B=1 signal (as seen in the table tester) that corresponds to the B=1 signal of mouse movement when the left button is pressed.
This would seem to be a bug of some kind.
I have a vague and probably unreliable memory, from a few years ago, of the canvas automatically panning when using the stylus to draw a line so maybe the bug was introduced at some time in the past.
@anny1001 Are you using a stylus? If so, what happens if you use a mouse?
