Why can't i assign left or right click on Keyboard Shortcuts?

Fr why is Krita ike this??? Wide gamut selector would be perfect for the right mouse click

and it seems i can’t assign it on the canvas shortcuts

EDIT: My reply here was incorrect so I’m erasing it. I didn’t catch on that you were trying to invoke a docker. You stated it clearly enough, I just didn’t read it properly. Sorry if I added to your frustration.

The ‘left mouse click’, called Left Button, is used for tool activation such as painting, etc.
So, it would not be suitable for activating the wide-gamut selector.

Also, wide-gamut selector, etc are available as Keyboard shortcuts. The left mouse button is not a keyboard key.
Canvas inputs are not keyboard shortcuts and they can use mouse buttons.
They are only active on the workspace, not outside it.

I’m glad you saw this, @AhabGreybeard. My answer was completely wrong.

but why it can’t be?
for example i have the shortcut designer addon
i have all the brushes mapped to my num-pad, so this is basically useless now

so would be nice to replace this with the wide gamut selector, so its just a color selector tool, instead of also having brushes listed here
(also i meant the RIGHT button not the left…)

You’d need to ask the creator of that ‘addon’ about this.

You can’t use the Right Button as a keyboard shortcut either.

You’d need to ask the developers why it is, in a topic with a category of Developer Questions.
This topic should have been Developer Questions anyway so I’ve changed its category and added more detail to the title.

Because it has not been coded to do that. Either because of some limitation or some other reason. You can make a feature request explaining this issue and proposing your solution
