I had downloaded something that alegedly allows me to record on krita, i followed instructions i was given and just recorded my speedpaint with kritas record function. i know it works because i can see almost 3000 ss saved to my computer for the speedpan. The problem is it says my FFmpeg is not found? any way to fix this??
You didn’t really had to download anything. Krita already comes with FFMPEG nowadays (since version 5.1 I believe). You most likely found an outdated tutorial. I recommend undoing the steps you did and use Krita’s recording feature just like it is.
Check out the manual and tell us if it helped.
If anything fails you can import the frames as an image sequence into most video edior tools (like Kdenlive) and create the video with that.
In any case, the recorder does not automatically make your painting a speed painting. It only creates something called a time lapse. The only way to make a speedpainting is to paint as fast as you can and finish the painting in a certain time.
Hello @May_Teardom and welcome back
Also, please post screenshots of all the various windows and options that are associated with the Recorder docker and the Timelapse Export process.
5.2.0 was the first version of Krita with “its own” FFmpeg onboard.

turns out i did record the time lapse (accidentally called it a speed paint in my post) the way the krita manual says but i still says FFmpeg is not found. Is there any way to solve that specific issue??
If you run any of the installer versions from 5.2.0 on, it is found under c:\Program Files\Krita (x64)\bin\ffmpeg.exe
, so you can directly copy this into the dialog where you are asked for the location of FFmpeg.

Why, you cheeky little monkey.
That actually made me laugh when I read it.
I changed the title wording for you.
True, though.
