Will the 5.2.0 betas be available as Steam betas?

hello! sorry im new to this forum but ive been lurking for a while, could i ask if theres any plan to add the beta to the steam version?

I don’t decide these matters but I’d be very surprised if a beta version was made available on Steam (or the Microsoft store, or a Linux distribution repository).
Beta versions are for those people who want them and make an active decision to get them to try them, knowing there may be bugs and crashes.
There should be no possibility of anyone accidentally getting a beta version by ‘pressing the wrong button’ somewhere.

hi! thanks for your reply! i asked this since steam betas are accessed by choosing it in the properties, so there wont be any chances of accessing it by mistake

I’ve made a new topic for this subject since you’re not reporting bugs for 5.2.0 beta-1.

I don’t know about Steam and I don’t know if Steam betas correspond to krita beta releases.
One of the developers may know about this.

This is for the devs and their steam contacts really.
Steam has an option for beta releases, you can turn them on and off at will.
Maybe something to look into?

hello! im really not sure what you mean with the first sentence, but yes i know Steam has an option for beta releases, that is why i asked the question. this is what you see for Krita’s beta releases on Steam:

there are none
my question was whether or not the devs were planning to add any upcoming betas to this menu

No, not this time, sorry. I think we’re not that far from release in terms of must-fix bugs. ™
