I have a graphics tablet with a screen (graphics display), which is detected as a secondary screen; when I use Krita in Fedora KDE sometimes both volatile and drop-down windows like the pattern one open in the main monitor, even if Krita is moved to the tablet monitor which is secondary, do you know if the bug is known, with volatile windows I can move them between monitor and tablet, but the drop-down menu ones are not taken since they have no frame and bar
KDE normally remembers on which screens a window opens. When it’s opened for the first time ever, windows will open on the primary screen. You can move it where you want and then it should always open in that position.
The problem is that sometimes even the drop-down menus open in the main monitor, like the pattern one that opened in the main monitor when Krita was in the secondary graphic display. If I set the graphic display as the main screen, it opens correctly, but the bar is more useful in the monitor.
if it’s a KDE problem should I write to them too?
I am using KDE plasma 5.27.5 on MX linux.
I have my wacom cintiq 16 set in Display and Monitor settings to be a replica of my main monitor. Both screens show the same image and dialog boxes, but the wacom is slightly smaller so it is scaled down a touch. I don’t really have what everyone calls a workflow in this forum, so this setup works for me just fine.
If your needs require different things on your two devices, ignore my response.
That’s weird. I don’t have this issue with Krita on KDE Plasma, with my Cintiq on Manjaro (Arch) using Wayland. When I had a window open on the wrong screen I just had to move it once but never had issues with the other popups. Krita uses Qt for UI and that should handle stuff like this out of the box.
Do you use the AppImage from krita.org?
I don’t know what to say, sometimes the drop-down menus open on the monitor that is the main screen (the one with the bar), instead of my Xppen 12 pro on Fedora Kde 42! I can say that I use the dual monitors option extend to the left, if I set the main screen on the Xppen it resets and opens as they should, it’s definitely a main screen issue; could it be a Fedora passenger bug!? Does anyone else have this problem with the extended dual screen options (to check the screen options they are accessible with Super+P)?
Do you use the official AppImage from krita.org or did you install another version from somewhere else?
Then you should check it with the one and only official version of Krita for Linux, and that is the AppImage. This does not mean it must not occur with the AppImage, it only helps to rule out errors made by the maintainers of non-official versions of Krita.

I don’t know if it was the updates but now it doesn’t give any more problems!
