XP Pen 15.6 Artist Pro has pressure sensitivity loss after Krita upgrade

So I just installed the newest version of krita but all my brushes that worked in the old version are not working as they should in the new version.

I use windows 10 and I just upgraded krita to the latest version.

Example: the basic-5 brush is not using its pressure sensitivity function. It just acts like a regular hard brush. How do I fix this?

Hello and welcome to the forum

Is it version 4.4.5 that you’ve just installed/updated to?
Which operating system are you using?
Which graphics tablet are you using?

Does your graphics tablet setup software have the ability to create separate profiles for different applications?
Have you previously created a profile for krita?
If so, I suggest that you delete that profile and make a fresh new one, then go through the settings for it and make sure they are what you are used to.

Always press the OK button (if there is one) and close the tablet setup software before checking if any changes have an effect.

Do you usually have krita set to Wintab or Windows Ink?
I suggest that you select Wintab at the krita side and then disable Windows Ink in the tablet software, to keep things simple.

If that doesn’t work, try Windows Ink at the krita side and enable Windows Ink at the tablet side.

For detailed testing, do Settings → Configure Krita → Tablet Settings → Tablet Tester and draw on the grid area then note the tablet event record on the right side.
It should look very similar to this:

Pen tip brought near
Stylus press X=198.79 Y=76.40 B=1 P=17.7%
Stylus move X=195.59 Y=78.88 B=1 P=21.5% (DRAW)
Stylus move X=192.39 Y=81.14 B=1 P=21.5% (DRAW)
… Many similar lines deleted for clarity …
Stylus move X=188.35 Y=84.81 B=1 P=12.1% (DRAW)
Stylus move X=188.35 Y=84.81 B=1 P=0.0% (DRAW)
Stylus release X=188.35 Y=84.81 B=0 P=0.0%
Pen tip taken away

I believe 4.4.5 is the latest version. I use the xp pen 15.6 artist pro. Operating system is windows 10. I’m not sure if my tablet can create different profiles. I usually use wintab but when I switched it to the other option it still didn’t work.

What is the Tablet Tester showing when you draw on the grid area?

I don’t know the XP Pen tablets at all but this post shows someone who does:

@screwdycrow may be able to give more advice about this.

I’ve changed the title of your post to get the attention of other people who use the same tablet.

You can try: disconnect tablet, uninstall tablet driver, full power down restart, reinstall tablet driver, full power down restart, connect tablet.
Then try again with Wintab at the krita side and with Windows Ink disabled in the tablet utility.

I figured it out. it was my tablet that was the problem

It always is the tablet or driver that’s the problem.

Can you explain in more detail what you did to fix it so that anybody else who has this problem can have a better clue what to do?

So what I did was that I re- installed my Pentablet driver for Xp Pen by going to their website and downloading their newest version of that driver

sometimes just closing the service of the driver and opening it again works as well. You can just close penttablet by going to the taskbar on the running background apps. and then just open it again via the shortcut. this haappens once in a while to me as well buts very rare.
