Description of the issue (you can include screenshots):
I just got an XP Deco Pro M and I’ve been trying to get it to work with Krita. I was previously working with a Huion 1060P and had no issues at all. I removed the Huion driver before installing the XP Pen one.
The problem is I can only use the tablet in Windows Ink mode (through the driver). When in mouse mode (relative position), which is the one I’m more comfortable with, the cursor jumps mid-canvas towards the sides of the screen (just happens in Krita). Also, even though I do have both pressure sensitivity and tilt, the Tablet Tester does not show any blue lines, as I think it should. I’ve already tried using a previous driver, but then it wouldn’t give me any pressure sensitivity. I don’t know what to do!
When you uninstalled the Huion driver and installed the XP Pen driver, then when you tried a previous driver and, I assume, then reinstalled the latest XP Pen driver, did you use the full disconnect tablet and power down restart between all uninstall and install actions, before reconnecting the tablet as the very last action?
If not, I suggest that you do that with reinstallation of the driver.
If you’re in Mouse Mode: Absoloute Mode, does everything work ok?
Can you take a screenshot of the tablet tester window when you paint a short stroke with the stylus and upload it to a reply here?
Do you mean that you’ve tried to disable Windows Ink in the driver software utility and failed to do that?
I can actually disable Windows Ink on the driver, but when it’s disabled and I try to use Krita that way, that’s when the cursor sort of skips a whole area when I try to navigate inside the canvas.
I actually did, and I tried it once again after reading your response too, but it’s still happening.
On the newest driver I can only select between mouse mode (which is always relative) and Windows Ink. When in Windows Ink mode, everything seems to be working ok both in and out of Krita. But in mouse mode, even though everything works anywhere else, on Krita I have the cursor skipping big chunks of screen while navigating through de canvas.
Here’s the tablet tester ss! As I test it, it sometimes seems to be recognizing it as a tablet and drawing the blue lines, but as I take away the pen and then draw again, the blue line appears in different places (sometimes below the red line, sometimes over the redline, sometimes not at all)
Please read this topic where it’s stated that krita does not provide support for mouse mode:
If that works then I suggest that you use that one.
The usual advice is that if you select Wintab at the krita side then you should disable Windows Ink in the tablet driver utility.
Similarly, if you select Windows Ink at the krita side, you should enable Windows Ink in the driver utility.
That blue/red difference always confuses me and someone else may know the technical details of how it happens and what the consequences are.
Am I right in thinking that there is a setting combination that makes it work properly?
Yeh, I think I’ll have to stick with absolute mode. The weird thing is that with the Huion 1060, the mouse mode was supported and I never had an issue with Krita. Got used to that, so I guess I’ll just have to switch!
I’m not sure either of the differences on the red and blue lines, but with Windows Ink enabled, it works just right no matter what I’m using on Krita. I’ll just keep it all as it’s supposed to be!
