Request for a “lock button” for zooming in and out, perhaps in the overview docker or as an indipendant feature that can be added to the toolbar.
I’m a beginner artist using krita for more than a year on a tablet, and in my experience I’ve found myself unable to stop using the “zoom in” feature and getting caught up in unnecessary details early in the process while painting or designing. This begginer’s habit hinders my process making me, (and other artists from what I’ve heard being part of multiple forums), waste precious time and progress, and also distract me from my work flow.
The lock zoom button will help in getting rid of the habit, as I will have to think twice before zooming in, since I’ll have to actively press a button.
I’ve tried to completely disable zoom and zoom in-out manually from the overview docker, not using my finger to do so, and it helped with the habit but I could not get precise zooming. Moreover, zooming in and out is crucial for adding detail, rendering and precise strokes, thus it cannot be completely disabled but also some control over the habit would be great for us beginners and likely more advanced artist.
I think such a feature would really help with making a faster-more efficient work flow for artists. It may not seem like a notable feature to be asking but I think it’s worth adding since it doesn’t need great changes to be applied to the software to work.
