Zooming problem

Zooming in and out on the canvas does not work. THE Zoom percentage shows up on the side of the screen and the slide bar moves too. When I try and draw on the canvas the cursor does not move either.

When I click blending mode and a few other parts of Krita all of it snames where it should be, the canvas resizes and the markings I made on the canvas are visible as if they had never frozen.

Which version of krita are you using and which operating system?
Are you using a mouse or a graphics tablet? Whch graphics tablet?

There are many different ways of zooming. Which method are you using and are you using the mouse or the tablet/stylus to do it?

I use Krita 4.3.0 on Windows. I used mouse and a gaumon tablet, but I dont think the tablet is the issue because I tested it and nothing was wrong. I tried the zoom in and out shortcut keys and also scrolling with mouse wheel. It zooms in and out but doesn’t show until i change the tool or blending mode, then it snaps to the correct zoom position.

Which version of Windows? 7, Vista, 8, 10?

Start with the mouse. Disconnect the USB plug that connects your tablet to your computer then restart krita and try zooming with:

The mouse scroll wheel,
The slider at the right hand side of the status bar,
The Ctrl+ ‘+’ and Ctrl+ ‘-’ shortcuts,
Ctrl+space+ mouse left click-hold and move it up and down the canvas,
Any other zooming method I may have overlooked.

Do they all work, or not?
If not, do they all have the same problem behaviour?

If there’s some or all not working, create a new image and try the same zooming attempts on that and see if that fixes any problem.

my zoom used to work just fine until i tried an animation and when i reverted back to the original custom document the canvas wont zoom out no matter what. what should i do?

See if it works better if you change Configure krita -> Display to the other Renderer and restart Krita.

This is the solution I was provided by a developer, it fixed it.
