Sorry if this isn’t formatted properly, it’s my first time posting but I’ve had this idea for months.
I would love if there was a tool that let me select multiple of my brushes of varying sizes and paint with them at the same time. The end result would be akin to creating a vector line, duplicating it, and selecting different brush types for each line.
This would be extremely useful for when an artist wants to paint a line and have a unique brush effect perfectly surround that line. It would also be good at making more complex brush types if krita doesn’t provide the satisfactory tools for brush creation.
I personally would love this feature to create a pixel art airbrush that, rather than lowering opacity, would have gradually thinner dithering. As far as I’m aware this isn’t currently possible with patterns or stamps.
Ideally there would also be the option to make presets for brush combinations that saved brush sizes within those combinations. I know that it would probably be taxing on the program to calculate 2 or 3 brushes at once but I sincerely hope you consider this request!
edit: I decided to make an example that hopefully better clarifies what I mean
This is a very ‘specialist’ request and probably has a low chance of being implemented.
Have you tried Edit -> Stroke selected shapes ?
That will use the selected brush preset to paint a line over a selected vector object. You can then do that more than once with different brush presets to give multiple painted stroke layers over the vector object.
Here is an example with the black vector line move to be above the ‘stroked’ layers, for illustration:
@AhabGreybeard Thanks for the advice!
I kind of figured this was something krita was capable of but I appreciate the visual guide!
unfortunately for my purposes I’m looking for a more “painterly” option where i can draw a line and then assess if I need to add more or take some away and if I tried to do that with vector lines it would end up being more cumbersome than just painting the line multiple times.
I could maybe apply brushes to a vector and then change the length and curve to better adjust to what I need but I think at best it would be as convenient as doing it manually.
I’m sad to hear that it might be too niche to implement but I feel like the concept is simple enough maybe someone could make a plugin for it?
either way, thank you for trying to help me out!
