Had a little fun updating a classic painting. A more modern mythology.
Does posting to NSFW make it so hardly anyone looks at it?

Nice! Great idea for a master study, I’d like to try something like this myself ![]()
Unfortunately, it kiiiinda does. The combination of rules requiring everything to be blurred all the time and the broken “do not blur NSFW” profile setting means that users have to really go out of their way to see anything marked NSFW. (And on top of that, the NSFW rules are super strict here. Moreso than any other art community I’ve been a part of, anyway.)
I made a little tutorial on how to un-break the “do not blur NSFW content” setting, which at least helps a bit for people who want to opt-in to seeing those images in the all artwork list. But even that process is a little annoying, admittedly!
Trying to capture a Rubenesque look with different brush strokes was a very good learning experience for me, and a lot of fun too. I definitely would like to do more of that. It certainly helps you see why that was a part of a classic painting education.
Thanks for your tips on the blurring issue. I’ll try to follow your tutorial and set that up, but when I got the inspiration to do that painting I hadn’t really gotten the super-strict nsfw vibes yet.
What I should have done was put some clothes on the women. I think that capturing the Rubens look with yoga pants and a top would actually be an interesting challenge and a very good time.
