Hi, im new to krita and i downloaded a bundle of brushes i use in my digital art class, but its in .abr from photoshop, and i want to use it in krita, is there any way to import it into krita?
In Settings → Manage resources, then Import resources button. Here you can load the .abr files. They will load as brush tip collection in the brush editor, and many settings of the original creator might not be loaded. But you’ll have all the shapes of the brush tips, a good starting point to recreate them. That’s because of:
“Since Adobe hasn’t disclosed the file format specification, we depend on reverse-engineering to figure out what to load, and currently that’s limited to basic features.” ( Source: The official FAQ )
And depending on the PS version used to create that ABR you may need to convert your ABR first into an ABR format Krita and other programs can handle, but there is a freeware capable of doing this, abrMate, although a Windows program can it be used under Linux via Wine and very probably via Wine Bottler under macOS:
The program with installer:
The same program as a portable version:
And if you don’t know how to use that program, you can send me a link to your ABR in a cloud space of yours like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc., via PM, and I’ll send you the converted file back via the same way, I did this several times in between.
By the way, if you don’t trust my cloud, you can find this software via several file-hosts like softonic.com, MajorGeeks.com and the like.
Be aware: The original manufacturer is defunct, does no longer exist, as well as the fake website some shady “businessmen” had run for a few years on the original manufacturer’s URL, and it can’t be ruled out that other shady people will relaunch such a fake website, but Texturemate, the original manufacturer, does no longer exist! So, be aware if you can’t resist testing the links in that software, you’ll be taken everywhere but not where you wanted to! Better don’t take that risk.

I forget to put how GIMP can imported ABR brushes maybe that would be an idea for how Krita aproach it. Support more abr brush versions (#415) · Issues · GNOME / GIMP · GitLab
This is of course an example because the main general discussion of the ABR of Krita its maybe already closed. Photoshop brush import - #10 by wolthera
