Hello @Zevraska , and welcome to the forum!
But you really should know about it, using our forum search you would have found a lot to read:
Hi, for a project i need to make a animation that involves moving wires, since i already have the picture for the wires i only need to animate them, so is there any way in krita for making an object have vectors that you would only need to move every key frame in order to animate the object?
By the way im using the official krita 5.2.9 for windows, if someone needs that info in order to help me
I know this is gonna be ignored because of the negativity but I will report it either way.
Introduction
Krita is still not way prepared for animation work is plain and simple. Despite the focus on traditional hand drawn animation it falls short even on this smaller goal. Animation wise Krita is becoming increasingly disjointed or is suffering a big transition phase of some kind either way it is not pretty at the moment.
Some of these shortcomings are UI other are lacking features. Some problem…
Hey everyone,
I hope this is the right place for this. I have been hacking away at Krita for quite some time now, trying to implement animated path shapes (KoPathShape, KoPathPoint, etc). As it stands now, moving points/shapes around at different keyframe times works and the animation docker tracks the movement of the path points fine, including the interpolation of each keyframe channel.

In the pictures you can see a simple path with two path points. One of the path points has…
Dear Krita team,
After coming from apps such as Maya, Blender, After Effects, etc I noticed that the Y (up and down) translation curve is displayed upside down in the Animation Curves section of Krita. This is very confusing when animating. The Y curve should represent the direction of the object in which it is traveling. I understand this would create frustration for other users with their older projects if this were to change.
Perhaps there could be an option to reverse the direction of the…
hello everyone
can we add keyframes for a vector layer? I am trying to create vector shapes on different frames but I cannot add any.
I would say, wishes are enough, but if our devs see vector animation as a goal for Krita is nothing I would bet on. This has to do with Krita’s view of itself, which can be found here .
And here you find the 2026 Krita Roadmap .
