Applying Custom Icons to Editable Toolbars

https://www.reddit.com/r/krita/comments/4s2vuh/is_there_a_way_to_replace_krita_toolbar_icons/

New to the community and wasn’t sure where to post this. I just noticed this and wondered if it would be a simple fix. It’s just a bit annoying because we have the option to edit the toolbars, but then half the options display in the workspace as needlessly long strings of text. Some of the text describe functions that Krita already has icons for.

Either a point in the right directions or simple answer about why this isn’t a necessary fix would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Well putting the editing tools on custom toolbars hasn’t really worked until recently, due to the order in which things are loaded at startup they would be gone after restart.

Though if you try master (5.0 alpha), you can put tools (with their icon) on custom toolbars.

As for custom icons, I guess you could mess with the .action files in your installation, but that won’t survive the next Krita update…it’s not really feasible to make every single bit customizable and automatically migrate them every update.

Of course you can make suggestions to add icons for specific actions you find important, as has recently be donw with wraparound mode.

Thanks for the quick response. It sounds like what I was looking for is in the pipeline
