I was drawing for an hour and I accidentally pressed on “No” when i pressed CTRL+Q ( When it asked if i wanna save).
I was panicking a little and i thought the backup saved.
But no, the backup did not save too.
Why doesn’t the backup save when pressing No if i wanna save or not when quitting krita?
As sorry as I am and as tragic as it is that you lost an hour of your work, it also seems to be true that you did not inform yourself in advance about the related topics in order to be informed and prepared in case of the situation you faced.
But okay, so you want to know why something isn’t working the way you imagined it would work in your favor, in case what just happened to you happened?
Here I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the functionality and topics explained in detail in the Krita manual: Saving, Backup, Auto-Backup, Crash Recovery. You can find it here:
Alternatively, you could use the forum search to find the countless topics on auto backup and, for example, apply the damage minimization options I suggest there. For instance:
There is also a plugin that modifies the auto backup function available in Krita, which is exactly explained in the manual (and so often misinterpreted), to work in the way you imagined before the recent incident:

Thank you for your response Michelist
I have read the Krita document and Krita is doing what the user did, wether its accidental or not. I saw that the Auto-save saves the file as a temp as well. In my case, it was supposed to be in my home directory as I use Linux. I could not find it there. I looked in /tmp folder but had no luck. It’s probably because i already closed my computer and reopened it today to check if i have luck finding.
I do hope in the future, the Auto save function gets a customization function for its temporary Auto-save files. I do want it in a way that, the Auto-save will stay as last saved as temporary even after not saving, only overwrite it after the next auto save when opening the file that was not saved.
As for the shortcuts, I am aware of it. Though I am still not used to using it so I forget alot of the times. It’s a fault on my side.
I think Krita’s auto saving is an unluckily chosen name and has cost many users a lot of work, but the devs do not seem to want to change it. Logically they are not wrong, but from a user’s view this should be thought about. I can only offer you help with what Krita has, like I tried doing for others in the linked posts, or you can try using that plugin I named at the end of my former answer.
