Best of Krita-Artists – November/December 2025 – Nomination Submissions Thread

Welcome to the Featured Artwork submissions thread. This is where Krita-Artists members nominate artwork to appear in the featured row.

How it works

Each month, around the 15th, we’ll post a nominations thread. Krita-Artists members can make up to five submissions in each monthly thread. This nominations thread will be open for submissions until 2025-12-11T18:00:00Z.

Everyone is welcome to vote when the poll is published. The five images receiving the most votes will be inducted into the featured artwork row. Winning images will also be entered into the Best of Krita-Artists – 2025 competition at the end of the year.

Best of Krita-Artists – 2025

In January 2026, we will publish a post containing all the winning entries from the previous year. K-A member voting will determine the top ten and these finalists will be awarded a “Best of Krita-Artists – 2025” badge. In case you missed it, here are the results from last years’ winning entries: Best of K-A 2024

How to Submit a Nomination for Monthly Featured Artwork

Tag the artist using their @ name, insert a link to the full-size image and then add a link to the original post. You may want to open 2 tabs in your browser as you will need to refer to the original post twice.

Detailed Posting Instructions (click to open)
  1. Open a new reply in this thread and type the @ name of the artist you are nominating.
  2. Go to the artist’s post and click on the image. When the image appears on your screen, right click and copy or save the image link (image address).
  3. Return to the nomination post and press hyperlink or ctrl+k. Paste the URL (optional title is not necessary). Once the link markdown is inserted into the post, add a single ! (exclamation mark) before the [ (the opening square bracket) of the link. It will look something like this:
    ![title](url)
  4. Return to the artist’s post and copy the URL. Paste this URL into your nomination post.
  5. Save/publish the post.

Guidelines

  • Forum members may make up to five nominations per month.
  • You may not nominate your own work.
  • All artwork published in the Artwork:Finished Artwork category is eligible. The only exception is artwork that is already featured (look for the “featured” tag next to the post title).

The featured artwork nomination process is brought to you by Krita-Artists’ Admins and Moderators. We welcome feedback and suggestions. To submit feedback, please click here and add your thoughts.

I’d like to nominate “Practicing How the Light Works” by @pale

It’s always challenging to paint a subject with strong light and shadows. Especially with skin, which has sub-surface light scattering, which this artist handled well.

This Realistic pear by @Younel0 is so rich. Look at the leaf detail!

Once again, there is a picture that deserves much more attention than it has received so far! That’s why I’m nominating @Artifist’s picture "Oui, c'est moi.", a work that clearly shows that less can be more and is absolutely sufficient to create a great work of art:

@Dima I had fixed your nomination by adding ! in front of the url. I think you may have just removed the fix as the image is once again hidden.

I may have made several attempts. I persistently do not appear [

@sooz Please correct me again, I won’t bother you anymore.

It’s no bother. Do me a favour, though. Look at the detailed instructions and tell me if there is a better way I could word it. I don’t want this to be difficult for people to add nominations.

I’ve already read it several times. I don’t get parentheses ( [ ) when I paste a copy of the footnote/ So the non-exclamation mark (!) doesn’t work. I’ve never had such problems before. This is not the first nomination.

Я несколько раз её уже читал. У меня не появляется скобки ( [ )когда я вставляю копию сноски/ Поэтому не восклицательный знак (!) не срабатывает. Раньше у меня таких проблем не было. Это уже не первая номинация

Well, what can I say, I’ve got another Ace up my sleeve for this month’s Nomination Submissions Thread.

But in this case, the Ace is a Joker, from Gotham City, masterfully staged and captured on canvas by our forum member @yan9win, here for you and your viewing pleasure: Heath Ledger as Joker

UNFORTUNATELY, this beauty isn’t eligible, because it is a traditional media work. On the one hand it makes me a little sad because I could have risen expectations to nominate it, but on the other hand are rules, rules, and they apply to each and every one of us!

Wow, what an explosion of colors! I can’t tell if this “phoenix” is rising from the ashes or vice versa, but it’s a feast for the eyes that I didn’t want to keep from the world: That’s why I’m NO LONGER nominating @RoyKannthalí’s “Melody” UV Acrylic on canvas!
