I’m thinking a list view with two rows per brush. The first is the brush thumbnail + name on the right, the second row is smaller, placed below the first one and contains just the tags for this brush.

I just have a small concern regarding this, wouldn’t this make the listview look a bit too cluttered?

Maybe, you could try to mitigate that to some extent with a more muted second row.

Do you have anything else in mind then? It’s easier to discuss this if you already have some mock-up to start with.
