Cabaret Girl. Testing RGBA color-smudge brushes.

Hello everybody, this is going to be addictive for the Traditional media fans. I really enjoy the wet feeling. Of course there are things that need to be pulished but i think for Krita 5.0 it will be a super cool feature.

Technical feedback.
I don’t know if @dkazakov is working in tweaking the neutral ,brightness and contrast, values for the brushtip. Brightness seems not working. but as it is is quite good.

  • Maybe we need more RGBA brushtips ready to create beautiful effects. I have used for these tests.
  • Is done in the laptop, without tilt. so i think in desktop this must be even more fun. Performance is good for 1000px in document. Obviously this is not final, i know, but the feeling is oooohh, i love it. And i know is not real fluid dynamics but for me, imo is one of the best things i ever tested for tradigital techniques.
I am still refining my tests but i go slowly due my other tasks in real life.
  • I notice if i close the document, Krita crash in 5.0 dk2 589715d if i remember well.

Hi, @RamonM!

Neutral point and brightness sliders should not do any effect in the colorsmudge engine (except of some clipping artifacts), because the brush is explicitly normalized before the usage in this engine. Perhaps I’ll have to extend this normalization feature into the pixel engine later, and disable the sliders when it is active, though not at the current stage

There should be a half-a-second delay on the first stroke with this engine (will be fixed later). And there is normalization slowdown already fixed in the branch and not present in your built. Basically, there is still some room for improvement

RGBA in smudge engine for wet thick paint was exactly what i wanted since RGBA release. Thank you so much, the dream comes true. I’m already so hyped that I can’t sleep at night. @RamonM very nice work, for me it looks also very like traditional media, but I am not a specialist about that.
